A Tent On My Son's Wish List

I received the Springbar Family Tent within 3 days from ordering here in Amarillo, Texas. I immediately recognized the high quality of this canvas tent and its accessories which arrived together and securely packaged.
My son, who is a 57-year old lawman, a Special Texas Ranger, had talked to me for months about how much he wanted one for himself and his family. He was in the process of saving money to purchase one maybe for the next year.
I decided to go ahead and order this tent and give it to him as a family Christmas present this year.
When I told him about the gift we would bring him for Christmas where he lives in East Texas, he started to cry with joy. He had researched the value of the tent and was convinced it was a safe, easy set up, and durable tent to take his grandchildren camping at the lakes and in the mountains.
When he receives it on Christmas Morning, he will be delighted to recognize that this tent actually does live up to the excellent reviews from satisfied customers reporting their positive experiences camping with a Springbar.
Thank you for sending me a USA made product that has the mark of excellence and that will be handed down to my son's children and grandchildren.
              Sincerely, Linda Mast

              What's not to like

I use tents for fishing, backpacking and hunting excursions in mid summer until early winter. This tent is going to replace most except my backpacking and larger 14 x 16 wall tent. The quality of materials, design and craftsmanship is top notch. Setup time compared to the larger wall tent is less than 1/2 the time. It was made easier by the same lag bolts and impact already had. It will replace 3 other tents that I use because this one just does it better and over a broader range. Great ventilation and breathable canvas for summer, high wind protection for exposed areas, less hassle for solo use compared to larger wall tent, warmer in colder weather again due to canvas. The 10 x 14 size is bigger than what I need for solo use, but I just don't see much difference in setup time/cost/weight for a smaller size though grabbing a factory second.

I have to commend the pursuit of Made in USA in everything that goes into it. The price is richer but also underscores consumerism as something that simply works instead of something available cheaper. Been in my fair share of tents and fish/hunt camps, I wish my family had this option earlier. The quality is great.

I also bought the rainfly to use for current fall rainy conditions. Warning, if using a buddy or similar propane heater, moisture will collect under the rain fly above roof, making parts of the roof damp. I have come to now only use the rainfly for conditions which don't need propane heater. The vestibule is nice as give options on setting it up but needs experimentation to work best for use and weather. With rainfly, I kept it rolled up. Also bought the protico panels. They are really nice for windier or sunnier conditions but again will not use them if using the rainfly. Wish the hose inlet for propane heater was on front of tent vs. rear as that is where I keep my the stove, under the fly. I recommend the optional floor liner, it keeps the tent cleaner and drier and at same time added protection from roots, etc coming thru floor (and added protection for cots).
